How to Make A Community Impact: Trust your Donated Car to Kidney Kars – Utah & Idaho’s #1 & Most Trusted Local Charity

Ever wondered how much of an impact donating you car to Kidney Kars *actually makes in your community?

The answer is life or death *BUT only if you carefully choose the charity you donate to with great care.  The National Kidney Foundation of Utah & Idaho (locations in Provo Utah and Boise Idaho) was one of the first 5 charity car donation programs in the country and started accepting cars for kidney patients in 1990.  Since that time the NKF of Utah & Idaho has accepted over a million cars online at towKars.org  If you donate locally to the National Kidney Foundation, you can be assured that local kidney patients will be helped with life saving services such as: transportation to and from dialysis, kidney nutrition supplements, dental care, housing and emergency financial aid.  All of these kidney patient programs are aimed at helping kidney patients qualify for the kidney transplant waiting list, and to serve those whose health excludes them from every qualifying for the kidney trans plant waiting list. There are some kidney patients who are lucky enough to qualify, and others who are not so lucky. But we serve them all.

What happens to your car after you donate it to Kidney Kars?

Once your Kidney Kars donation is received by towKars.org / the National Kidney Foundation of Utah, its fate depends on its condition—specifically, the year, make, mileage, and overall condition. Based on that assessment, it will be:

  • Sold as a whole vehicle,

  • Sold for parts, or

  • Recycled.

Most Importantly, 100% of the money earned from this process will be used locally to support over 3,500 dialysis patients in Utah and Idaho.

How does donating a car help fight kidney disease?

When you donate a car to towKars.org, the money raised goes directly to:

  • Supporting Utah & Idaho kidney patient services

  • Providing free kidney health screenings in Utah and Idaho

  • Funding local medical research being done in the State of Utah to fight kidney disease

Without these car donations, there would be no local funding for these critical, life-saving programs. Your donation truly helps save lives and promote kidney health in your own community.

What impact does your Kidney Kars donation really make?

Your donation can mean the difference between life and death for many in our community. Without support from Kidney Kars, nearly 10,000 people in Utah and Idaho living with kidney disease would face serious setbacks—some unable to access life-saving dialysis treatments simply because they can’t afford transportation.

By donating your car to Kidney Kars at towKars.org, you ensure Utah and Idaho kidney patients can get the care they need—when they need it most.
