I am always SO cold.

Dear Kidney Foundation of Utah, I am a grateful recipient of a grant from the foundation. I received assistance to pay my heat bill. My husband had two very serious injuries at work and was hospitalized around the time I was diagnosed as being in the final stages of renal failure. We lost our home and the basement apartment we can afford is so cold. Because of the dialysis and my low creatine levels, I am ALWAYS COLD. We have been careful not to turn up the heat because we can’t afford it. But it was just so cold this month. We truly appreciate the grant of $122 to help us pay our heat bill. Your generosity is so deeply appreciated. Sincerely, Curtis and Dorothy R. (Athon, Idaho)

Today is my 65th Birthday

Dear Kidney Foundation, Thank you so much for your assistance in making a $350 payment to the Medicare Premium Collection Center. Today is my 65th birthday. Not being dropped from Medicare, has made it a very happy birthday for me! Thank you! Thank you!

Daughter of Kidney Patient

Dear Kidney Foundation,  I am writing this letter on behalf of Randy S. who is a recent recipient of your generous help. He was in need of extra money to have his teeth fixed in order to become a candidate for kidney transplant.  He has been on dialysis for approximately nine months now and it has not been easy. Your kindness and support in the amount of $350 has allowed him to get his teeth fixed. He is now eligible for a kidney transplant. It was a very stressful time for him, trying to determine where he would get the money to fix his teeth (in light of all his new medical expenses).  Because of the Kidney Foundation’s generosity his teeth are now fixed and he will be eligible for a kidney transplant. It’s a relief and one less thing to worry about right now.  Thank you for your kindness and for all you do on behalf of families everywhere who struggle with kidney failure.  Without your help m any families would be unable to get the support they need in order to receive a kidney transplant.  Sincerely, Kimberly S. (Daughter of Randy S.)

Kidney Patient Scholarship

My name is Christine N., I am the recipient of the $700 scholarship from the National Kidney Foundation of Utah & Idaho.  I can’t describe how happy and thankful I was when I first read the letter explaining I had received a scholarship to go back to school.  This time has been so financially trying (insurance benefits changed, and I had to pay an increase in my co-pay).  I had to take out a loan last year for school, but that always makes me very worried (what if I’m not healthy enough to pay it off when it comes due?). The tuition assistance was a wonderful peace of mind.  I am on track, ready to start the semester and continue studying!  Thank you from the bottom of my heart.  –Christine.
